Does any body else here have a problem with friends and family members purposely trying to give your children junk food just because they know you generally don't feed your kids junky foods. I have this happen to me all the time. Even if I tell my kids they can't have another cookie, they will give it to my kids right in front of my face as to say Ha! Ha! Is this how others deal with their own insecurities about how they feed their own children? Or do people just LOVE to give kids junk food? I usually blow it off, but now it's starting to tick me off. It's not like I deprive my kids of snacks. Do you think I should say something next time?
I just read the posting regarding the frustration with people purposely trying to give your kids junky food. I must say it happens to me ALL the time, intentionally. It is especially irritating when close family does it right in front of me. One time I had told my daughter( in front of my sister-n-law) that she had had enough snacks for the night (which already had included junky brownies, candy etc...). About 15 minutse later I find my daughter and sister-n-law in another room and she is feeding her a brownie and soda, after I had just said no! It's not like I never let my kids enjoy food at a party but when I say no, I mean it, I was furious! My feelings are those who blantly and knowingly chose to purchase food full of chemicals and food dye are just jealous of us who take the time and money and ENERGY to have our families eat healthier. I am starting to speak up more!
